Indian firm MEIL wins $225.5 Million Kuwait Oil Company contract

Mega Engineering and Infrastructure Limited (MEIL) has won a $225.5 million (69 million dinars) strategic contract from Kuwait Oil Company to build and operate a new gas desalination and sulfur recovery facility in Kuwait’s western oil fields, according to the Times of India.

The project will follow a build-own-operate (BOO) model, with MEIL responsible for designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining the facility, and a future buyback option for KOC.

Construction is expected to take 790 days, followed by five years of operation and maintenance. The plant will have the capacity to process 120 million standard cubic feet per day of sour gas, enhancing Kuwait’s energy infrastructure.
