Indian Embassy in Kuwait temporarily restricts consular services to emergency cases
The Embassy of India in Kuwait has announced a temporary restriction on consular, passport, and visa services, limiting them to emergency cases only from July 2 to July 4, 2026, due to administrative reasons.
In an urgent notice issued on Wednesday, the Embassy stated that applicants seeking emergency services must submit supporting documents proving the urgency of their requests. Only essential applications will be processed during the temporary suspension period.
The Embassy clarified that emergency services will include Tatkal passport issuance, NRI certificates, short-validity passports for applicants with expiring Civil IDs, Emergency Certificates, and e-Visas.
Meanwhile, applications for regular passports, attestation services, and standard visa processing will neither be accepted nor processed during the restricted service period.
The Embassy further announced that all Indian Consular Application Centres (ICACs) across Kuwait will stop accepting applications starting July 2 until further notice.
Individuals requiring urgent consular assistance have been advised to visit the Embassy’s Consular Wing between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Only documented emergency cases will be considered during this period.
The Embassy said further updates regarding the restoration of normal services will be announced in due course. It also urged members of the Indian community in Kuwait to follow only the Embassy’s official communication channels and social media platforms for verified information and updates.
The temporary measure, according to the Embassy, is purely administrative, with normal consular operations expected to resume once the situation is resolved.
