IMA Kuwait marks IMAWIS Annual Day with cultural performances
The Annual Day and Felicitation Ceremony 2025 saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, dignitaries, and community members, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion.

The Indian Muslim Association (IMA), under the patronage of the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs (Foreign Relations Department), organized the Annual Day and Felicitation Ceremony 2025 of its IMA Weekend Islamic School (IMAWIS) on September 12 at the Awqaf Auditorium in Reggai.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from students, parents, dignitaries, and community members, making it a memorable and inspiring occasion.
The program began with a heartfelt recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by young student Afiyah Jawwad Khan, accompanied by its translation by Yahya Hamdan, which set a spiritual tone for the gathering. This was followed by a welcome address from IMAWIS Principal, Mr. Nisar Ahmad, who outlined the school’s vision and highlighted its achievements in nurturing children with Islamic values while ensuring academic excellence.
The evening was graced by the presence of distinguished guests, including Mr. Jamal Abdul Khaliq Abdullah Al Nouri, Chairman of Sheikh Abdullah Al Nouri Charity Society, and Mr. Aslam Parvez, President of the Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA), who delivered insightful and motivating speeches. Their thought-provoking addresses emphasized the importance of knowledge, unity, and values in shaping future generations, leaving a lasting impact on the audience.
Adding further prestige to the gathering, Mr. Mohammed Ali, Chief Coordinator at the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, attended the program as a special guest. His presence reflected the ministry’s continued encouragement and support for IMA’s educational and community initiatives.
The cultural program highlighted the talents of IMAWIS students through nasheeds, skits, and speeches.
A melodious Urdu nasheed presented by Mr. Jawwad Khan and a group of young students filled the auditorium with an uplifting spirit. Drama performances, including The Value of Ilm (Knowledge) and We Are One Ummah, delivered powerful moral messages and received high appreciation from the audience. Students Ridha Fayyaz Bhandarkar and Muhammad Ahmed Hanif impressed everyone with their well-prepared speeches on The Character of an Ideal Muslim and Obedience to Parents respectively.
IMA Ex-President Mr. Shamveel Parvez, in his presidential address, praised the dedication of students, teachers, and parents. He reaffirmed IMA’s commitment to fostering education that combines learning with values and community service.
The program concluded with the much-awaited Awards and Felicitation Ceremony, where outstanding students were recognized for their achievements in academics, Islamic studies, and extracurricular activities. The felicitation, conducted by the organizers alongside dignitaries, was a proud and encouraging moment for all.
The event was well conducted by Mr. Faiyaz Ahmed and ended with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Tayyab Bawazir, followed by refreshments.
IMA Weekend Islamic School (IMAWIS) is an online school in Kuwait run by the Indian Muslim Association (IMA) for boys and girls aged 5–14. It offers classes in Islamic Studies, Hifdh, Seerah, Duas, and Arabic, supported by experienced teachers using interactive tools. Classes are held every Saturday from 9 AM to 12 PM.
