Idukki community in Kuwait unites for a fun-filled ‘Chill & Grill’ picnic

The weekend of fun, food, and celebration began with a warm welcome, featuring traditional Kattan Kaapi and Chai, along with cultural performances and a live dinner.

• The “Chill & Grill @ Winter Castle” picnic concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks by Treasurer Bijo Joseph. The event was a testament to the strong community spirit and dedication of the Idukki Association Kuwait members.

The Idukki Association Kuwait (IAK) recently held a successful picnic event, “Chill & Grill @ Winter Castle,” on December 26-27, 2024, bringing together the Idukki community in Kuwait for a weekend of fun, food, and celebration.

The picnic kicked off on the evening of December 26 with a warm welcome, featuring traditional Kattan Kaapi and Chai. The evening continued with cultural performances, a live dinner, and the official inauguration by IAK President Abin Thomas. General Secretary Jobins Joseph delivered the welcome speech, setting the tone for the event.

The night was filled with activities, including a photo session, cultural programs, and a special gathering to honor visiting parents from India and bid farewell to a valued member, George. The celebration also featured a Christmas and New Year cake cutting, followed by a delicious chicken grill session.

The second day began with an early morning tea session, followed by a hearty breakfast. The children participated in a coloring competition coordinated by Raji Shaji Mathew, Jomon P. Jacob, and the Women’s Forum members. The sports activities, inaugurated by Sports Convener Bijo Thomas, included various games and a tug-of-war, providing entertainment for all ages.

The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks by Treasurer Bijo Joseph. The picnic was a testament to the strong community spirit and dedication of the Idukki Association Kuwait members.

Special thanks were extended to the key leaders and committee members who played pivotal roles in organizing the event, including Picnic Convener Terance Jose, Food Committee members Biju Jose, Santhosh Antony, Sajimon P. T., and Binu Agnel Jose, Cultural Program Committee members Anish Sivan, Anoop Johny, and Bhavya Anoop, and Sports Committee members Bijo Thomas, Baby John, Benny Augustine, and Ouseppachen Thottumkal.

Additional appreciation was given to the catering team, led by Shanu, the chalet keeper Haris, and all the executive committee members for their unwavering support.

IAK President Abin Thomas and General Secretary Jobins Joseph expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated and contributed to making the “Chill & Grill @ Winter Castle” picnic a memorable event. The association said that it looks forward to many more such gatherings that celebrate the vibrant community spirit.
