150,000 passengers set to take off from Kuwait during holiday surge

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation revealed that the most popular travel destinations from Kuwait between January 1-4 are Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo, Doha, and Istanbul.

• The total expected passenger traffic from January 1-4 will reach 150,404, including both departing and arriving passengers at Kuwait International Airport.

• The highest expected passenger movement at Kuwait Airport during the New Year’s holiday will be at T1, with a total of 64,673 passengers, followed by T5 with 48,130 passengers, and T4 with 37,601 passengers.

With the arrival of the New Year and many citizens eager to spend the holiday abroad, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation reveals that the most popular travel destinations from Kuwait during this period are Dubai, Jeddah, Cairo, Doha, and Istanbul, according to Al Qabas newspaper.

It was added that the total expected passenger traffic from January 1-4 will reach 150,404, including both departing and arriving passengers at Kuwait International Airport.
Abdullah Al-Rajhi, Deputy Director General for Aviation Safety, Air Transport, and Civil Aviation Security, and acting spokesman for the administration, stated to ‘KUNA’ that the total aircraft movement during the same period is expected to reach 1,159 flights.

Regarding departing passengers, Al Rajhi indicated that their number is expected to reach 71,324, compared to 126,694 during last year’s New Year’s holiday, while the number of arriving passengers is expected to be 79,080.

He stated that the highest expected passenger movement at Kuwait Airport during the New Year’s holiday will be at Terminal (T1), with a total of 64,673 passengers, followed by Terminal (T5) with 48,130 passengers, and Terminal (T4) with 37,601 passengers.
