The Meteorological Department has forecast hot to very hot daytime conditions and warm nights across the country over the weekend, with active winds expected to raise dust in exposed areas.
Acting Director of the Meteorological Department Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi said weather charts and numerical models indicate that the country is currently under the influence of an extension of a surface low-pressure system accompanied by a hot air mass.
He noted that winds will be northwesterly to variable in direction, ranging from light to moderate speeds, but may become active at times, causing dust to be stirred in open areas.
Al-Qarawi explained that Friday’s weather will remain hot, with northwesterly to variable winds blowing at speeds between 8 and 35 km/h.
Maximum temperatures are expected to range between 44°C and 46°C, while sea conditions will be light to moderate, with wave heights between 1 and 4 feet. Minimum temperatures will range from 32°C to 34°C.
For Saturday, he said conditions will turn very hot and relatively humid along coastal areas, with light to moderate northwesterly to variable winds ranging between 8 and 30 km/h. Maximum temperatures are forecast to reach between 45°C and 47°C, while nighttime lows are expected to range between 33°C and 35°C.
