Gulf national caught red-handed smuggling cash to Iraq via Abdali Port

An official source from the General Directorate of Customs told Al-Rai that a Gulf resident was arrested while attempting to smuggle a large sum of money to Iraq.

The source told Al-Rai that Al-Abdali Customs officers, while inspecting passengers at dawn on Wednesday, discovered a large sum of money professionally hidden in a bag, confirming an intent to smuggle. The traveler had denied carrying any money when questioned before the inspection.

Importantly, the source noted that the traveler failed to explain the origin of the funds or why he concealed them. He was referred to the competent authorities for further action.
