
The Council of Public Universities has approved a draft ministerial resolution outlining the conditions, standards, and procedures for filling academic positions, including deans, heads of specialized deanships, academic department heads, and similar roles. This follows the enactment of Decree-Law No. 156 of 2024, which amended provisions of Law No. 76 of 2019 concerning public universities, Al Qabas newspaper reported.
Dr. Jassim Al-Ali, Acting Secretary General of the Council of Public Universities, said that during its meeting on Monday, chaired by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Nader Al-Jalal, the Council approved the announcement and admission requirements, as well as the expected number of students to be accepted for the 2025/2026 academic year in the College of Graduate Studies.
Additionally, the council approved the number of available scholarships, with one seat allocated for individuals with special needs in each graduate program.
