Govt agencies align efforts to modernize labor market and clarify institutional roles

The Public Authority for Manpower participated in a tripartite coordination meeting with the Ministry of Social Affairs and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to discuss regulating the relationship between civil associations, professional bodies, and labor unions, and to establish clear operational frameworks to improve efficiency and reduce jurisdictional overlap.

Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower, Rabab Al-Osaimi, stressed that joint coordination among relevant government entities forms a key pillar in developing Kuwait’s labor environment and institutional performance.

She noted that the upcoming phase will see further modernization of work mechanisms, contributing to greater stability in the labor market while reinforcing the protection of workers’ rights within a balanced legal framework, reports Al-Rai daily.

Al-Osaimi added that strengthening inter-agency cooperation is essential to enhancing governance in civil and trade union work, ensuring clarity of mandates and improving regulatory effectiveness.

The meeting concluded with an emphasis on the importance of continued coordination between government bodies to streamline procedures and consolidate responsibilities in a way that serves the public interest and supports sustainable labor market development.
