Germany, France, Britain offer ‘to mediate in ongoing conflict’

German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul announced that Germany, France, and Britain are prepared to hold immediate talks with Iran regarding its nuclear program in an effort to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.

Speaking during his current visit to the region, Wadephul emphasized his intention to contribute to calming the ongoing conflict between Israel and Iran.

He noted that Tehran had previously missed opportunities to engage in meaningful dialogue but expressed hope that this time would be different.

“I hope that is still possible,” he told German broadcaster ARD late Saturday. “Germany, along with France and Britain, is ready. We are offering Iran immediate negotiations on the nuclear program, and I hope it will be accepted.”
