GCC committed to supporting international anti-corruption efforts: Ambassador Al-Fassam

Kuwait’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, Ambassador Talal Al-Fassam, who also chairs the Council of Ambassadors of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in Vienna, announced that the council recently held its regular meeting, which featured a productive session with Professor Slagiana Tasseva, Dean of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA).

In a statement to KUNA, Ambassador Al-Fassam noted that the meeting is part of a series of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at strengthening both bilateral and multilateral partnerships. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation between GCC countries and the Academy in key areas such as training, capacity building, and the exchange of expertise in combating corruption and promoting integrity.

He emphasized the GCC’s recognition of the strategic importance of anti-corruption efforts, describing them as essential pillars for achieving sustainable development and reinforcing public trust in institutions.

Al-Fassam also reiterated the GCC’s firm commitment to supporting international initiatives that promote transparency and good governance, affirming that this dialogue aligns with the region’s broader goals of expanding multilateral cooperation to serve shared interests and values.
