From wells to output, KOC commits nearly 1 billion dinars
. . . to artificial lift expansion in strategic oilfield push

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has taken a major step toward reinforcing its production infrastructure by awarding a package of large-scale contracts for the supply and deployment of Electrical Submersible Pumping (ESP) systems, a key technology used to sustain and enhance crude oil output.
The total value of the contracts reaches KD 991.92 million, equivalent to approximately USD 3.22 billion, underscoring the scale of investment being directed toward modernizing Kuwait’s oilfields and improving operational efficiency.
The awards were distributed among a select group of prominent international and regional oilfield service providers, reflecting KOC’s strategy of leveraging advanced technologies and diversified expertise to support reservoir performance and long-term production stability, according to SG Projects.
Under the contract allocations, Tianjin Rongheng Group Co., Ltd. secured agreements worth KD 74.95 million, while Schlumberger Oilfield Eastern Ltd. was awarded contracts totaling KD 169.96 million. Halliburton received awards amounting to KD 200.49 million, and Alkhorayef Petroleum Company obtained the largest single share, valued at KD 233.99 million.
Additional contracts were granted to Baker Hughes EHO FZE, valued at KD 196.42 million, and Zhongcheng Machinery Manufacturing Co. Ltd, affiliated with Bohai Petroleum Equipment, which secured contracts totaling KD 116.10 million.
KOC officials indicated that the expanded deployment of ESP systems will play a pivotal role in optimizing well productivity, improving reservoir management and sustaining output from mature and developing fields alike. The initiative aligns with Kuwait’s broader energy strategy aimed at maintaining production capacity while enhancing efficiency and reliability across upstream operations.
The contracts also highlight KOC’s continued emphasis on advanced artificial lift solutions as a cornerstone of its long-term oil development plans, reinforcing Kuwait’s position as a major and dependable energy producer.
