Former Interior minister faces 14 years in jail and multi-million dinar penalties

Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled was sentenced to 7 years in prison on charges of embezzling Interior Ministry funds, ordered him to return 500,000 dinars,

The Court of Ministers has sentenced former Interior and Defense Minister Sheikh Talal Al-Khaled to 14 years in prison for two embezzlement cases, fined him ten million dinars, and ordered the repayment of twenty million dinars, according to Al Qabas newspaper.

In the first case, the Court of Ministers sentenced Khaled to 7 years in prison on charges of embezzling Interior Ministry funds, ordered him to return 500,000 dinars, fined him double the amount (one million dinars), and removed him from his position.

In the second case, the Court of Ministers sentenced Khaled to another 7 years in prison, ordered him to return 9.5 million dinars, fined him double the amount (19 million dinars), and also removed him from his position.
