A new foreign-invested company has been established in Kuwait to operate in electricity generation, transmission and distribution, marking the entry of licensed foreign investment into a sector closely linked to the country’s infrastructure and essential services.
The Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) has approved the establishment of KPS One A Limited as a single-person, for-profit company in Kuwait with a registered capital of 100,000 dinars, owned by a single shareholder and established to conduct commercial activities and generate profits. Details of the company’s incorporation were published in Kuwait Alyawm, Kuwait’s official gazette.
The company was established by BSREEP 11, a UAE-based firm registered in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Its establishment was authorized under KDIPA Resolution No. 13 of 2025, dated September 1, 2025, while the incorporation agreement was signed on July 26, 2026.
The new company’s main activity is defined as generating, transmitting and distributing electrical power. It may also undertake similar, complementary, necessary or related activities, subject to Kuwait’s Direct Investment Law and other laws and regulations governing investment activities.
The company’s establishment comes as Kuwait seeks to expand foreign investment participation in value-added sectors and broaden the presence of international companies in the local market, particularly in technology, energy, infrastructure and specialized services.
Under the incorporation agreement, KPS One A Limited will have a 90-year term beginning from the date of registration, with the possibility of extending the term through a decision by the capital owner. The agreement also allows the company to establish branches and agencies both inside and outside Kuwait.
Its principal office and legal domicile will be in Kuwait, with the company permitted to relocate its headquarters to another location within the country in accordance with applicable legal procedures.
