Extensive repairs on Fourth Ring Road begin under new contracts

Dr. Noura Al-Mashaan, Minister of Public Works, announced on Thursday the commencement of major maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road under new contracts. She emphasized the ministry’s ongoing commitment to road maintenance projects across all areas, ensuring quality and adherence to international standards to enhance infrastructure development, according to Al Qabas newspaper.
Dr. Al-Mashaan stated in a press release about the commencement of radical maintenance work on the Fourth Ring Road that the relevant teams inspected the area before carrying out the necessary repairs. Maintenance will begin in the most affected areas, followed by the lesser-affected areas, with supervision, oversight, and follow-up from the ministry’s teams.
She explained that road maintenance projects are part of the ministry’s strategic plan to enhance the road network and provide a safe, sustainable environment for citizens and residents, in line with urban development and growing transportation needs.
She emphasized the ministry’s commitment to overseeing all stages of implementation, from design to completion, while adhering to internationally recognized quality standards and technical specifications to ensure optimal performance and durability of the roads.
She stated that her directives for the expedited completion of maintenance work were based on the recommendations of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, as part of the government’s commitment to maintaining and repairing the country’s infrastructure. She emphasized that the infrastructure of any country is a key pillar of its economic vision.
She stressed the need for coordination to address outstanding road maintenance issues, urging the implementing companies to complete all work swiftly, with the required quality and efficiency, in line with the approved technical specifications and the promised timeline.
Dr. Al-Mashaan noted that road maintenance and repair is a priority for the country’s political leadership, praising the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh MeshalAl-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah for their continued support of road maintenance projects, which will be a cornerstone of the “New Kuwait 2035” plan.
In a related context, the supervisor of the first ring project and King Faisal Road, Eng. Abdullah Al-Naqi, stated that the work at the intersection of the Fourth Ring Road and King Fahd Road involves detecting the asphalt layers and identifying the necessary treatments. The earth layer has been removed in some areas, the paving layers will be completely replaced, and expansion joints and traffic planning will be implemented.
Al-Naqi urged road users to be patient and cooperate with the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of the maintenance work.
