
The European Union Mission in Kuwait hosted a Ramadan event on 11th March, in celebration of the International Women’s Day, highlighting women’s empowerment by bringing together distinguished women from all sectors of Kuwaiti society. These included women leaders from government, business, finance, academia, women’s empowerment activists, civil society, arts, journalism, law and influential personalities.
Speaking at the event, the EU Ambassador to Kuwait, H. E. Ann Koistinen emphasized the EU’s dedication to supporting women’s empowerment in Kuwait, stating that inclusive societies are stronger, more prosperous, and more resilient.
Ambassador Koistinen expressed her satisfaction with the shared commitment between the EU and Kuwait in advancing this cause. Since the establishment of the European Union Mission in 2019, she highlighted the excellent collaboration with the Kuwaiti government, private sector, academia, and civil society, which has led to numerous impactful projects and initiatives, which EU feels proud.
