Embassy of Turkiye takes part in ‘Healthy City Project’ recycling event

The Embassy of Turkiye in Kuwait participated in the recycling event organized within the scope of the “Healthy City Project” on July 7, 2025 in cooperation with the Asimah Governorate of Kuwait and the Dahiyat Abdullah Al Salem, with the aim of spreading environmental awareness and supporting a sustainable living culture.
The event aimed to collect used household oil, glass bottles, paper and plastic waste and recycle them; our Embassy also contributed to this environmental awareness activity both institutionally and individually. In addition to the Embassy personnel, Kuwaiti volunteers actively participated in the event at the recycling point.
It was noted that citizens displayed a meaningful unity for an environmentally friendly future by delivering recyclable materials to the authorities at the waste delivery point established in the event area.
During the event, Turkiye’s Ambassador to Kuwait H.E. Tuba Nur Sönmez informed the participants about the “Zero Waste Project”, which is being successfully carried out throughout Turkiye, by also touching on our country’s environmental policies; it was emphasized that the Embassy has also implemented the necessary practices in line with this project and that it acts with institutional sensitivity regarding zero waste.
In the statement made by Ambassador Sönmez at the end of the event, it was stated that they are aware of the importance of such initiatives in achieving environmental sustainability goals; in this direction, it was stated that cooperation, solidarity and awareness activities aimed at strengthening environmental awareness both at the institutional level and among citizens will be continued with determination.
