“Electricity Ministry” completes 30% power plants maintenance work before summer

The Assistant Undersecretary for Power and Water Distillation Stations, Eng. Haitham Al-Ali, announced that the Ministry of Electricity and Water has completed approximately 30% of the maintenance work on electrical plants in preparation for the upcoming summer season.

Eng. Haitham Al-Ali, the chief engineer for operation and maintenance of the Ministry of Electricity and Water’s power and water distillation plants, stated that the ministry has completed approximately 30% of the maintenance on electrical plants and 60% of maintenance work on water plants. He made these comments during a mock evacuation exercise at the Western Doha plant, organized by the National Guard on Tuesday.

Al-Ali highlighted that the Ministry of Electricity and Water has implemented a plan and timeline for the upcoming summer season, which started in September and is expected to conclude in June. He urged citizens, government institutions, and private companies to conserve energy and water to prevent disruptions.

Furthermore, Al-Ali mentioned that the Ministry of Electricity and Water is coordinating with the Gulf Interconnection Authority for the exchange of electrical energy, with an expected 1,000 megawatts to be sourced from several Gulf countries.
