“Electricity Ministry” calls for weekly reports on tender status

The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Adel Al-Zamil, held a meeting with several assistant undersecretaries from the Ministry’s electricity sectors.
The purpose of the meeting was to review the current situation of the sectors, discuss the challenges and obstacles they are facing, and outline their development vision moving forward.
The meeting began with a welcome speech, where Dr. Al-Zamil expressed his gratitude to the assistant undersecretaries for their efforts in overseeing the work within their respective sectors. He acknowledged their commitment to ensuring that the ministry’s services are delivered to customers with the highest quality.
The Undersecretary emphasized the importance of teamwork and prioritizing the interests of the work to ensure swift completion. He also expressed his pride in the distinguished national cadres within the ministry and urged the leaders to continuously develop the work system, aiming to make the ministry a source of pride for its members.
Moreover, the Undersecretary stressed that he would spare no effort in overcoming the obstacles facing the ministry, ensuring the continued progress of its projects and operations without disruption.
The meeting also included a presentation on the status of electrical power generation units and desalination units in the electric power and water distillation plants sector. This included updates on the percentages of maintenance completed, the readiness of fuel networks, and the quantities and quality of fuel required by the Ministry for the plants.
Importantly, the meeting also covered the condition of the main switching stations, high-voltage air lines, and the sector’s readiness for any emergencies in the stations and high-pressure network. Additionally, new mechanisms launched in the sector to ensure the safety and reliability of the electrical network was discussed.
The attendees reviewed the annual maintenance programs for secondary switching stations and integrated distribution units, which take place from October to May. The sector emphasized the preparedness of emergency teams to handle any sudden electricity interruptions. Additionally, the mechanism for monitoring distribution across the six governorates was discussed.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry was briefed on the status of the expected electrical system for the summer, along with the procedures and operational measures in place to ensure the safe operation of the system.
The status of maintenance contracts, construction contracts, and operational contracts within the sectors, the training of Kuwaiti engineers and technicians in the Ministry’s training centers was discussed, focusing on equipping them with the latest modern technological methods.
Dr. Adel Al-Zamil emphasized the importance of submitting weekly reports from all sectors regarding the status of tenders. This would help identify and address any obstacles that could hinder the provision of electricity and water services.
At the end of the meeting, Al-Zamil thanked those responsible for the sectors for their efforts in performing their duties and ensuring the highest quality of electricity and water services. He stressed that all sectors are committed to addressing any delays or issues in maintenance contracts that may arise, ensuring smooth operations.
The Undersecretary of the Ministry also emphasized the importance of empowering the national workforce to carry out all engineering and technical tasks in line with the replacement policy, highlighting the presence of distinguished and creative personnel within the Ministry’s national cadres. He assured his full readiness to address any challenges facing the ministry’s sectors in preparation for the summer of 2025.
