Dubai Police return bag containing AED 102,000, passports to grieving Kuwaiti brothers

Lost and Found Department well-equipped with trained personnel to respond with speed and precision

In a moment of distress and urgency, two Kuwaiti brothers rushing to return home after the death of a family member accidentally left behind a bag at Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 1. The forgotten bag contained 102,000 dirhams in cash, passports, and other personal belongings.

Upon realizing the loss just as their flight was about to depart, the brothers quickly informed their sister in Dubai, who immediately contacted the Dubai Police. Within 30 minutes, specialized teams from the General Department of Airport Security located the bag and safely handed it over to the sister, following strict legal procedures.

Brigadier General Hamouda Balsuwaida Al Ameri, Director of the General Department of Airport Security, praised the swift response of his team, noting that such incidents are not uncommon given the high passenger traffic through the airport. He emphasized that the Lost and Found Department is well-equipped with trained personnel who respond with speed and precision, often returning items even before passengers report them missing.

Dubai Police reaffirmed their commitment to the highest standards of security, safety, and service, ensuring passengers’ peace of mind and comfort while traveling through Dubai.
