Massive Interior Ministry sweep nets 30 drug peddlers, over 29 kg of narcotics

Personnel from the Ministry of Interior conducted several simultaneous security operations across various regions, resulting in the arrest of 30 individuals of different nationalities — 14 Kuwaiti citizens, 5 bedoun, 7 Bangladeshis, 2 Indians nationals, and one each from Saudi Arabia and Iran.

The Ministry emphasized that these operations are part of the ongoing efforts exerted by the Criminal Security Sector’s, Directorate General of Drugs Control, as part of a broader plan to safeguard society from the dangers of narcotics.

The security campaigns led to the seizure of significant quantities of narcotic and psychotropic substances, including:9.823 kg of hashish, 7.966 kg of shabu (methamphetamine), 7.557 kg of marijuana, 2.950 kg of chemical substances, 1.082 kg of heroin, 5 grams of cocaine, 10 grams of Lyrica powder, 6,710 capsules of Lyrica and 974 psychotropic pills.

Additionally, authorities confiscated an imported bottle of Red Label whisky, two firearms, a quantity of live ammunition, 25 sensitive scales, and a number of empty sachets prepared for drug packaging and distribution.

All suspects and the confiscated materials have been referred to the Drugs and Alcohol Prosecution Office to initiate legal procedures.
