Defense Minister highlights importance of advancing air systems to strengthen Armed Forces

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense, and Acting Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah Al-Ali Al-Sabah, has underscored the vital need to continue advancing air systems to enhance the operational readiness and effectiveness of the Kuwaiti Armed Forces. His remarks came during a graduation ceremony for a new cohort of Air Force pilots held on Monday.

In a statement issued by the Kuwaiti Army, Minister Al-Ali emphasized that the development of modern defense capabilities ensures the military can carry out its missions with professionalism and efficiency under all circumstances.

The ceremony was attended by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army, Major General Pilot Sabah Jaber Al-Ahmad, Air Force Commander Brigadier General Pilot Mohammed Jumaa Al-Hamdan, and senior officers. During the event, Minister Al-Ali awarded graduation certificates to 28 newly trained pilots.

In his address, the minister expressed his pride in the graduates, describing them as a “qualitative addition to the air force” and a testament to the strength of Kuwait’s national defense. He noted that their achievements are the result of rigorous training and a comprehensive development strategy implemented by the Ministry of Defense to equip national cadres with advanced technical and professional skills.

Minister Al-Ali encouraged the graduates to remain committed, disciplined, and continuously engaged in professional development to keep pace with rapid advancements in aviation and defense technologies.
Following the ceremony, Minister Al-Ali toured both Salem Al-Sabah Air Base and Ali Al-Salem Air Base.

He inspected key operational and training facilities, including the flight simulator wing, training buildings, and aircraft hangars.

He received detailed briefings on the capabilities and functions of these facilities, as well as the nature of air missions carried out by the Kuwaiti Air Force.

The minister praised the high level of technical readiness and modern infrastructure in place, reiterating the importance of sustained efforts to upgrade the nation’s air defense systems as part of a broader vision to confront regional security challenges and protect national interests.
