Cristiano Ronaldo named best Middle East Player at Globe Soccer Awards

Cristiano Ronaldo, the Portuguese football superstar currently playing for Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, has been awarded the “Best Middle East Player” at the prestigious Globe Soccer Awards.

Ronaldo’s exceptional performance in 2025 saw him net 41 goals for both Al-Nassr and the Portuguese national team, highlighting his enduring prowess on the field even at 40 years of age.

The award adds another accolade to Ronaldo’s illustrious career as he continues to chase the historic milestone of 1,000 career goals—a record no player in football history has yet achieved. He currently stands at 956 career goals, with his latest two goals coming in Al-Nassr’s recent victory over Al-Okhood.

This recognition underscores Ronaldo’s impact not just in Europe but also in the Middle East, where his presence has elevated the profile of football in the region.

The Globe Soccer Awards, held annually, celebrate exceptional achievements in football, recognizing players, coaches, and clubs who have made a significant impact on the sport globally.

Ronaldo’s continued success at Al-Nassr reflects both his longevity and dedication, reinforcing his status as one of football’s all-time greats.

Meanwhile, Ronaldo has confirmed that his passion for football remains strong and that he is still eager to achieve his goal of scoring 1,000 career goals.

With the player (40 years old) prepared to continue playing “for another year or two,” his goal seems achievable.

“It’s difficult to keep playing, but I’m excited,” he said after receiving the award for the second year in a row. “My passion is great and I want to continue. It doesn’t matter where I play, whether in the Middle East or Europe. I always enjoy playing football and I want to continue.”
