Commerce Ministry uncovers raffle fraud, identifies eight new suspects

According to informed sources, investigations into fraud and manipulation in commercial raffles are ongoing. The Ministry of Commerce and Industry is currently auditing raffle records and winner lists from the past three years. As part of this review, authorities have identified around eight individuals of various nationalities suspected of involvement in fraudulent activities.

The sources confirmed that the ministry has launched a regulatory inspection of all raffle withdrawal records dating back to 2022, the period identified as the most likely timeframe for manipulation based on the defendants’ confessions.

Furthermore, the sources indicated that the initial review suggests the value of the suspected fraudulent prizes exceeds 250,000 dinars, all of which were car prizes.
