Club members not entitled to funds or donations, says ministry

The Ministry of Social Affairs stated, any member who is withdrawn or dismissed from clubs or public benefit associations can’t claim funds of the affiliated entity.

  • The Ministry of Social Affairs stated in its letter that, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 24 of 1962 on Public Benefit Clubs and Associations, there is an obligation to adhere to the legally prescribed purposes.

The Ministry of Social Affairs stated in a legal notice posted on its ‘X’ platform account on Tuesday that any member who is withdrawn or dismissed from clubs or public benefit associations is not entitled to the funds of the affiliated entity, according to Al Jarida newspaper.

The ministry stated in its letter that, in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 24 of 1962 on Public Benefit Clubs and Associations, there is an obligation to adhere to the legally prescribed purposes.

Article 18 stipulates that “the funds of the association or club, including contributions, fixed and movable property, donations, subsidies, etc., are considered the property of the club or association, and its members have no right to these funds – and the withdrawing or dismissed member has no claim to them.”
