‘Civil Service Bureau’ to implement evening work system enhancing efficiency and flexibility from 5 January
Dr. Al-Rubaian highlighted key benefits of evening work system that includes; reduced traffic congestion, faster service delivery, shorter completion times, and less work pressure.
The Chairman of the Civil Service Bureau, Dr. Essam Al-Rubaian, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Bureau is committed in implementing the Cabinet’s decision regarding the official work system in the evening, that’s set to take effect on January 5th, 2025.
Dr. Al-Rubaian, in his speech during a coordination meeting with government agencies, emphasized that the meeting’s purpose was to discuss and explain the official evening work system. This system is being implemented in line with the Cabinet’s decision and the approval of the Civil Service Council.
Notably, Dr. Al-Rubaian also highlighted that the meeting would provide an opportunity to listen to feedback and address any inquiries regarding the decision. He emphasized the importance of swiftly completing the necessary procedures to ensure the successful implementation of the evening work system.
In a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), Dr. Al-Rubaian highlighted the key benefits of evening work, including reducing traffic congestion, improving service delivery, shortening completion times, alleviating work pressure, and enabling continuous service provision throughout the day in customer lounges.
Dr. Al-Rubaian highlighted that the new system offers flexibility for both reviewers and employees, allowing citizens and residents to select the most convenient time to visit government agencies. By dividing work into morning and evening shifts, the system aims to enhance overall efficiency.
Moreover, Dr. Al-Rubaian emphasized that extending evening working hours is designed to improve the work environment in the government sector, streamline procedures, and enable the completion of a higher volume of transactions, benefiting both reviewers and employees.
Importantly, Dr. Al-Rubaian highlighted that the strong attendance and active participation of government department representatives at the meeting demonstrate their commitment to effectively implementing the new system.
Dr. Al-Rubaian emphasized that the first seven months of the evening shift system, starting from 5 January 2025, will serve as a trial period. He expressed hope for the cooperation of all parties to ensure the success of this experiment and enhance productivity.
The meeting was also attended by the Acting Undersecretary of the Civil Service Bureau, Dhiaa Al-Qabandi, who discussed the regulations for the evening shift system in government agencies.
Additionally, the Assistant Undersecretary for Information Systems Affairs, Abeer Al-Fares, provided an explanation of the technical procedures for implementing the system through the Bureau’s integrated systems.
