CITRA begins infrastructure for Jaber Al-Ahmad tech city

Infrastructure of a technology city in Jaber Al-Ahmad began, Acting Chairman of the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) Abdullah Al-Ajmi announced Tuesday.

In a statement to KUNA, Al-Ajmi said that CITRA signed a consulting contract with Wafra Real Estate to develop the 140,000-sqm land for the project.

He added that the contract counts as a step in the right direction of constantly developing the technology city.

He explained that the development of this region will contribute to strengthening the Authority’s capabilities to provide advanced technological services. This, in turn, will foster a productive environment for technology companies and service providers.

Expanding on the vision for the region, Al-Ajmi stated that the city will be an appropriate infrastructure to become an oasis of knowledge.

He envisions it as a headquarters for global technology companies, a hub for data centers, and a training ground for all things technology. Moreover, the city will serve as a catalyst for encouraging young people to pursue careers in the technology field.
