The Central Authority for Public Tenders has approved the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy’s request to launch a tender for the construction and completion of an emergency electrical network management building in the Peace region, Al Jarida newspaper reported.

Ministry sources stated that the building’s construction is part of the ministry’s plan to establish emergency buildings in various governorates, at the request of the electrical distribution networks sector, aiming to strengthen the country’s electrical distribution network.

They noted that the ministry is committed to setting up these buildings to provide necessary support and ensure uninterrupted power supply in the Peace region, especially during summer, when peak loads rise each year.

Power outages occur in some areas but are managed by the ministry’s emergency teams, who are trained to restore power in the shortest possible time.

Sources noted that the ministry is seeking to establish four additional emergency buildings as part of its plan to expand these projects to various locations, including Hawalli, Saad Al-Abdullah, Fahaheel, and Al-Sabiya.

In a related development, the Central Tenders Organization approved the ministry’s request for a fifth extension of the annual tender for the maintenance of precision equipment and devices in electric generation and water distillation plants. The extension is from January 11 to July 10, with a total value of one million and 61 thousand dinars.
