‘Central Aid Platform’ to be launched for unifying local charitable organizations’ efforts

The Ministry of Social Affairs plans to launch the ‘Central Aid Platform’ in two weeks, aiming to unify the efforts of charitable organizations, expand the beneficiary segment locally, and prevent multiple organizations from providing the same type of aid.

This project is a key initiative by the Ministry of Social Affairs, led by the Department of Charitable Associations and Societies, under the guidance of Minister Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah. It aims to localize charitable work and broaden the reach of aid to support the largest possible number of the needy.

An informed source revealed the Ministry’s plan to launch the ‘Central Aid Platform’ that will serve as the umbrella for distributing aid through charitable organizations and associations.

The platform aims to assist needy families in Kuwait, streamline the supervision of aid distribution, and prevent the duplication of aid given to the same family by multiple organizations.

Unification of Aid

Moreover, the source added that the core vision of the platform is to unify the efforts of charitable organizations in assisting needy families locally and prevent families from receiving the same aid from multiple organizations. This will allow charitable groups to expand their reach and provide assistance to a larger number of families seeking assistance.

The source pointed out that the ‘Central Aid Platform’ is an electronic system that tracks all transactions for individuals seeking charitable aid across various organizations, while ensuring applicant privacy.

The platform will display only the type of aid, the nationality of the provider, and the number of family members.

If a charitable organization withdraws an application for further review, the applicant’s data will become visible, including whether they have received financial aid from another organization. The organization can then proceed with the appropriate steps to provide assistance.

Procedures

The source continued that the new system on the platform sets a maximum period of two weeks for processing applications. If the charitable organization does not take action within this time frame, the Ministry will send an alert about pending applications.

If the organization still does not act, finally the Ministry will transfer the application to another suitable charitable entity for processing.

Furthermore, the source pointed out that the central platform’s system allows aid seekers to approach multiple charitable organizations based on the type of aid they offer. Social researchers will assess the eligibility for assistance.

The platform aims to unify aid of the same type and provides detailed statistics on the number of beneficiaries, the total value of aid allocated, and the types of aid, including support for needy families, rent, education, medical aid, and more.

To conclude, the source explained that access to the platform will be available to all those in need through authentication via the ‘My Identity’ application, with only individuals currently residing in Kuwait being eligible. The official launch is expected to take place in about two weeks.
