Central Agency issues 2,530 new driving licenses to bedouns in 2024

The Central Agency for Illegal Residents announced on Thursday the issuance of 2,530 new driving licenses to bedouns in 2024, in cooperation with the General Traffic Department.

Abdullah Al-Farhan, Director of the Information Department at the agency, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that a total of 29,256 driving licenses were renewed between January 1 and the end of December last year.

Al-Farhan noted that Jahra Governorate recorded the highest number of newly issued licenses during this period, with 1,516 licenses.

It was followed by the Capital Governorate with 325 licenses, Farwaniya with 314, and Ahmadi with 269. Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate issued 59 licenses, while Hawalli had the lowest count with just 46 licenses. He added that only one license was issued through the new electronic traffic services system.

He explained that driving licenses are available to individuals aged 18 and above who hold valid identification cards, in accordance with Cabinet Resolution No. 409/2011, which grants certain benefits and facilities to bedoun.
