Cabinet moves to restructure government by end of 2025

- Council of Ministers emphasizes that no government agency should exceed two assistant undersecretaries, in line with restructuring efforts to streamline operations and improve the flow of administrative work.
In a decisive step to enhance institutional efficiency and strengthen principles of administrative governance, the Cabinet has directed all government agencies to fully comply with the decision issued by the Civil Service Commission regulating the number of assistant undersecretaries.
The measure aims to ensure sound organizational structures while tackling administrative inefficiency.
According to informed sources, the Council of Ministers emphasized that no government agency should exceed two assistant undersecretaries, in line with restructuring efforts to streamline operations and improve the flow of administrative work.
The Cabinet further instructed ministers to terminate the services of assistant undersecretaries whose contracts have expired but continue to serve, as well as to end the assignments of department directors currently acting in that capacity. These measures must be implemented by the end of the current year.
Additionally, ministers were told to finalize appointments of assistant undersecretaries still outside their agencies’ new organizational frameworks, ensuring that all placements are aligned with legal and administrative standards.
The Cabinet stressed that the entire file must be resolved no later than the end of 2025.
