Boushahri ensures stable electricity supply for high-demand emergencies

The Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy emphasizes the need to conserve electricity during peak hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., citing its significant impact on sustainable energy practices.

  • The Board of Directors of the Central Agency for Public Tenders approved more than 60 requests for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy during its extraordinary meeting.

Dr. Mahmoud Boushahri, the Minister of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, along with the Minister of State for Housing Affairs, assured that the electricity supply is stable.

He emphasized that the ministry is fully prepared, with its resources and personnel, to fulfill the state’s electrical energy requirements and manage any potential emergencies caused by elevated demands during periods of high temperatures.

Boushahri called for rationalizing consumption during peak periods, which extend from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., as this has a tangible impact on the sustainability of electrical energy.

In a related development, the Board of Directors of the Central Agency for Public Tenders approved more than 60 requests for the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy during its extraordinary meeting, which was devoted to reviewing the ministry’s requests.

During the meeting, the Board of Directors reviewed about 106 requests for the ministry’s sectors, of which it approved 62 requests, while postponing a decision on 17 requests and refusing to approve 6 requests.

The decisions of the agency’s Board of Directors also included giving permission to the Ministry of Electricity and Water to complete documents regarding six tenders based on the provisions of Article 40 of Public Tenders Law.
