The Arab Weather Center has warned of a ‘blazing’ heat wave starting next Wednesday, predicting that temperatures could reach up to 50 degrees Celsius in several Arab countries, as reported by Al Qabas newspaper.

In a warning bulletin, the center expected that temperatures would rise significantly by the end of this week in Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates, with temperatures in the forties in most regions.

It said, “Forecasts indicate that 50 degrees Celsius may be recorded in several parts of Iraq, Kuwait, and eastern Saudi Arabia.”

The center added, “Weather forecasts indicate that several parts of the Arabian Peninsula will be affected by a heat wave with temperatures rising to 50 degrees Celsius,” according to Sky News.

Weather forecasters at Arab Weather Center indicated that the high air pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere over the region is expected to gradually intensify by the end of this week, coinciding with a deepening of the surface thermal depression in the eastern Arabian Peninsula, which will lead to an intensification of the heat.
