Bangladesh Ambassador presents credentials to Kuwait’s Amir

Major General Syed Tareq Hussain noted that Kuwait was the first Gulf country to recognize Bangladesh after its independence and recalled Kuwait’s historic contribution to Bangladesh’s admission to the OIC in 1974.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah recalled the contributions made by the Bangladesh Army in the liberation of Kuwait, subsequent mine clearance, and the reconstruction of the nation.

Since the inception of diplomatic relations, Bangladesh and Kuwait have enjoyed excellent bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas, including politics, economics, trade, investment, manpower, and defense.

 

Major General Syed Tareq Hussain, OSP, awc, psc, the Bangladesh Ambassador to Kuwait, presented his Letters of Credence to His Highness the Amir Sheikh MeshalAl-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, during a ceremony at Bayan Palace on October 8, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Embassy in Kuwait.

Ambassador Tareq Hussain conveyed the warm greetings of the Honorable President and the Honorable Chief Advisor of Bangladesh during a meeting with His Highness the Amir, held immediately after the presentation of the credentials.

During the meeting with His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Ambassador TareqHussain noted that Kuwait was the first Gulf country to recognize Bangladesh after its independence.

He also recalled Kuwait’s historic contribution to Bangladesh’s admission to the OIC in 1974. Since the inception of diplomatic relations, Bangladesh and Kuwait have enjoyed excellent bilateral cooperation across a wide range of areas, including politics, economics, trade, investment, manpower, and defense.

The ambassador also highlighted the potential of skilled manpower and professionals from Bangladesh for Kuwait. He stated that he would do his best to elevate the brotherly relations between Bangladesh and Kuwait to new heights.

His Highness the Amir of the State of Kuwait accepted the ‘Letter of Credence’ as a symbol of friendship between the two countries.

In his remarks, His Highness recalled the contributions made by the Bangladesh Army in the liberation of Kuwait, subsequent mine clearance, and the reconstruction of the nation.

His Highness the Amir mentioned that Bangladesh is regarded by Kuwait as a very close brotherly nation and that Bangladeshi expatriates are significantly contributing to Kuwait’s current development.

His Highness also expressed Kuwait’s interest in collaborating with Bangladesh on projects that will benefit both Bangladesh and the Gulf region in the future.
