Bahrain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the renewed missile and drone attacks by Iran, terming them as flagrant defiance of the international will.
Tehran’s persistence in such behavior requires a firm international response, the Ministry said in a press release on Sunday.
It urged the UN Security Council to convene an emergency meeting and shoulder its responsibility for ending Iran egregious attacks pursuant to the UNSC Resolution 2817 (2026).
The unjustifiable attacks signal Iran’s unwillingness to honor its obligations under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding of June 17 and meet the demands of the international community outlined in this resolution.
The continued attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain represent a serious escalation of Iran’s hostility and aggression on the security of citizens and residents in Bahrain, according to the statement.
The Ministry stressed the urgency of durable cessation of hostilities and respect for the sovereignty of the countries of the region.
Holding Iran responsible for any further escalation or future instability, it said the Kingdom reserves its right to defend its sovereignty, security and territorial safety as per the provisions of the international law.
