Avoid ‘Gergean’ celebrations in residential areas for safety: Ministry

The Ministry of Interior urged parents to monitor their children themselves rather than relying on domestic workers, and to adhere to security and traffic instructions.

The Ministry of Interior has called on citizens and residents to avoid holding special events on the occasion of Gergean inside residential areas and squares. This includes preventing the use of vehicles, recreational vehicles, popular bands, and food trucks inside these areas to avoid closing internal roads, obstructing traffic, and endangering the lives of children.

The General Administration of Security Relations and Media stated that the invitation coincides with the upcoming Gergean event in the holy month of Ramadan, demonstrating the Ministry of Interior’s commitment to controlling traffic movement and ensuring everyone’s safety.

The administration urged parents to monitor their children themselves rather than relying on domestic workers, and to adhere to security and traffic instructions. It emphasized its ongoing communication with the public to achieve the desired goal and warned that legal measures would be taken against violators.

The ministry emphasized that vehicle drivers must pay attention and reduce speed, particularly on internal roads, and emphasized the importance of paying attention on public roads to ensure the safety of all road users. It noted that a security and traffic plan for the holy month of Ramadan has been prepared, which includes deploying a number of fixed and mobile security patrols in all governorates to ensure the security and safety of everyone.
