AlShumaimry diwaniya welcomes well wishers
Last week, Tareq AlShumaimry, editor-in-chief of The Times Kuwait, hosted a gathering at his diwaniya, welcoming friends, well-wishers, and members of the diplomatic community as part of the Ramadan festivities. The event provided diplomats from various nations an opportunity to mingle with the Kuwaiti community and share Ramadan greetings with them.
The diwaniya, a cornerstone of Kuwaiti culture and social life, becomes particularly vibrant during the holy month, transforming into bustling centers of social interaction, welcoming individuals from diverse backgrounds and nationalities.
Visits by diplomats and international guests to the diwaniyas are also instrumental in bridging cultural divides and nurturing a convivial atmosphere that fosters warmth and inclusivity. They allow ambassadors and diplomats to deepen their connections with Kuwaiti citizens and officials, and reinforce the strong, positive ties between the diplomatic corps and all sectors of Kuwaiti society.
Amidst these interactions, the serving of traditional tea, coffee, and Ramadan sweets to the guests, which embodies the essence of Kuwaiti hospitality, adds to the richness of the experience.
