Al-Yahya visits GCC emergency management center

Foreign Minister Abdullah Al-Yahya visited the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Emergency Management Center on Thursday, where he was welcomed by the center’s director, Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al-Marri. The visit included an overview of the center’s mission, key initiatives, and the advanced technical systems it employs to enhance regional emergency response and coordination.
During the tour, Al-Yahya received a comprehensive presentation on the Central Operations Room, which plays a pivotal role in crisis coordination among GCC member states. He was also briefed on specialized tools such as the radiation data exchange platform — one of the center’s most advanced systems for cooperation in nuclear and radiological emergencies — and the simulation and decision support system, designed to train national personnel and improve regional disaster preparedness, reports Al-Rai daily.
The minister commended the center’s significant role in strengthening the Gulf’s collective security and emergency response capabilities. He highlighted the importance of unified efforts and integrated strategies to address emerging regional and global challenges.
At the conclusion of his visit, Al-Yahya expressed deep appreciation for the dedication and professionalism of the Gulf talents managing the center. He reaffirmed Kuwait’s full support for the center’s ongoing initiatives and its continued development as a key institution in safeguarding regional safety and resilience.
