EPA Confirms Stable Situation at Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, Air Quality Within Safe Limits

The Environment Public Authority (EPA) stressed Friday that the situation at Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery is stable, adding that it is continuously monitoring developments around the clock, in coordination with the country’s relevant authorities.

This came in a statement by EPA Director of Public Relations and Media at the Authority Sheikha Al-Ibrahim to KUNA Following a fire that affected a unit at the refinery of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) earlier today due to drone attacks on it.

The EPA is periodically monitoring readings and situation is stable, she affirmed. she noted that the current monitoring results refer that the levels of air quality is within permissible limits, in line with national standards, registering no violations, while monitoring continues and necessary precautions are being taken.

The results also showed that the environmental situation is within safe limits, and there is no immediate risk to residential areas or public health at the present time, according to the statement.

Al-Ibrahim emphasized the continuation of monitoring and observing efforts around the clock, in full coordination and cooperation with the relevant authorities, to deal immediately with any developments and take precautions, in accordance with approved environmental standards, the statement concluded. – KUNA
