“Affairs Ministry’s” humanitarian initiative frees over 2700 male and female debtors across Kuwait
These conciliatory efforts by the Ministry highlight its commitment in providing practical and sustainable solutions in serving citizens and support them in overcoming their financial burdens.

The Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Chairman of the Debtors’ Debt Settlement Committee, Dr. Khaled Al-Ajmi, announced the release of a number of debtors and the settlement of debts of more than 2,700 male and female citizens, with a total value of 11.494 million dinars.
This is part of the Ministry’s efforts to support financially distressed groups and contribute to the social stability of Kuwaiti families.
Al-Ajmi explained in a press statement that the total amounts transferred to the General Department for the Execution of Judgments at the Ministry of Justice, from the Ministry of Social Affairs, amounted to 11.494 million dinars, which contributed to closing 3,060 files, especially for citizens who were unable to pay debts of less than 10,000 Kuwaiti dinars.
Furthermore, Al-Ajmi pointed out that 25% of the files are related to personal status issues, which reflects the extent of the challenges facing these groups, and the importance of the initiative to pay off debtors’ financial liabilities, in achieving financial and social stability.
More importantly, Al-Ajmi stressed that this step came based on the instructions from, Her Excellency Dr. Amthal Al-Huwailah, Minister of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, who specifically directed the importance of supporting citizens in facing financial crises, and thereby providing them with the necessary support, especially those suffering from accumulating financial debts.
In addition, he also pointed out that these efforts represent the Ministry’s commitment in providing practical and sustainable solutions that serve citizens and support them in overcoming their financial burdens.
Highlighting about this noble mission by the Affairs Ministry, Al-Ajmi appreciated the role of major donors in contributing towards paying off debtors’ financial liabilities, led by Kuwait Finance House, which made the largest contribution towards this initiative, amounting worth 7 million dinars.
Moreover, this also included other contributors from various cooperative societies, charitable societies, and a number of entities and citizens who contributed towards supporting this humanitarian initiative to pay off debtors’ financial liabilities, which reflected the spirit of solidarity and goodness that is inherently prevalent in the Kuwaiti society.
Al-Ajmi continued further by praising the pivotal role of the Head of the General Administration of Implementation at the Ministry of Justice, Counselor Abdullah Al-Othman, for his constructive cooperation in facilitating the procedures, stressing that this fruitful cooperation; was a key factor in the success of the initiative and achieving its goals in an integrated manner.
Expressing his appreciation, Al-Ajmi extended his thanks and gratitude to the members of the Debtors’ Debt Settlement Committee from the national cadres in the Ministry of Social Affairs; Ministry of Justice; Ministry of Endowments; Union of Charitable Societies and Charities, and Union of Cooperative Societies, stressing that their sincere efforts formed a major pillar in the success of the Debtors’ Debt Settlement Initiative.
Al-Ajmi concluded his statement by stressing the importance of continued joint work between the concerned parties to enhance the stability of Kuwaiti families, which contributes towards achieving social security within Kuwaiti society.
