Advance technology to improve diagnostic accuracy in neurology

The first of its kind in the field of diagnostic imaging in Kuwait, the Images Radiology Center, collaborated with Advanced Technology Company (ATC), a leading provider of comprehensive healthcare and environmental solutions for the public and private sectors, held a conference on 13th October, at the Four Seasons Hotel.

The conference brought together a group of local and international experts in the field of neurological imaging to discuss the latest diagnostic techniques and their impact on the treatment of neurological diseases, including stroke, dementia, multiple sclerosis (MS), migraine, and epilepsy.

The event also provided a dynamic platform for knowledge exchange on the latest developments in this field, and means to enhance cooperation between specialists in Kuwait and the region.

Furthermore, various discussions focused on innovations in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) techniques for early detection and follow-up of neurological diseases, in addition to the role of these techniques in improving treatment outcomes and enhancing the quality of patient care.

During the panel discussions, reputed speakers provided insights into a range of neurological disorders.

Prof. Dr. Gökçen Çiftçi from Hacettepe University discussed the latest developments in the use of MRI for the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and dementia, highlighting innovative imaging techniques that enhance the speed and accuracy of diagnosis.

Likewise, Prof. Dr. Arnd Dörfler, Head of the Department of Neuroradiology at the University Hospital Erlangen, reviewed the role of contrast agents in MRI in enhancing image quality and improving diagnostic accuracy. He also provided insights into the imaging pathways of stroke, highlighting integrated procedures for acute management, ensuring rapid and accurate diagnosis and effective treatment.

Additional sessions included topics related to diagnostic imaging for migraine and epilepsy, with a review of MRI techniques that contribute to a qualitative shift in the diagnosis and treatment of these conditions, which enhances the effectiveness of medical interventions and improves health care outcomes.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Yahya Suleiman, CEO of Images Radiology, emphasized the vital role of advanced neuroimaging in improving the treatment of neurological diseases saying; “Rapid advances in neuroimaging technology are reshaping the diagnosis and treatment of complex diseases.
