Kuwait’s history books chronicle 2026 Iranian missile and drone attacks

Curriculum emphasizes Kuwait’s continued approach of supporting dialogue, de-escalation and respect for international law.

The Ministry of Education has incorporated Kuwait’s 2026 experience of Iranian attacks into the new school curriculum, with the tenth-grade History textbook devoting pages 56 and 57 to the attacks and their impact on the country.

The textbook describes the attacks as a “heinous Iranian aggression” involving missiles and drones targeting vital and government facilities as well as residential areas. It lists power generation and water desalination plants, Kuwait International Airport, the Social Security Institution building and the ministries complex among the sites targeted.

According to the curriculum, the attacks violated Kuwait’s sovereignty and security and prompted the state to raise the readiness of its institutions. The textbook also emphasizes Kuwait’s right to defend its territory while continuing diplomatic efforts to protect regional security and stability.

It highlights the role of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah in directing state institutions and strengthening their preparedness during the crisis. The curriculum further states that Kuwait was not a party to the conflict between the United States and Israel on one side and Iran on the other.

It outlines Kuwait’s position calling for respect for state sovereignty, adherence to international law and preventing the use of Kuwaiti territory, airspace or waters to launch attacks against any country. The lessons also highlight the importance of national unity, solidarity between the leadership and the people, and the readiness of state institutions during the crisis.

The curriculum concludes by emphasizing Kuwait’s continued approach of supporting dialogue, de-escalation and respect for international law.
