Jazeera Airways extends Al-Qadsiya sponsorship for three years in landmark partnership

  • Jazeera Airways and Al-Qadsiya have extended their partnership for three years in the club’s first long-term sponsorship deal with a single partner, strengthening support for Kuwaiti sports, youth and the club’s ambitions on and off the field.
  • The partnership carries the slogan “The journey continues… Wings carrying a homeland,” bringing together two prominent Kuwaiti brands.

Jazeera Airways has signed a new three-year strategic sponsorship agreement with Al-Qadsiya Sports Club, extending its role as a major sponsor and official carrier of the club, known as “Al-Malaki” (The Royal Club).

The agreement is the first three-year sponsorship deal in Al-Qadsiya’s history with a single partner, moving the relationship beyond seasonal sponsorship toward a longer-term partnership focused on supporting Kuwaiti sports, youth and the club’s supporters.

The agreement was announced at a press conference held Sunday morning at the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Cultural Centre, attended by officials from Jazeera Airways and Al-Qadsiya, along with the club’s first-team coach and players.

Jazeera Airways said the partnership reflects its belief in its national and social responsibility and in the role of sports in bringing Kuwait’s people together, strengthening belonging and communication among young people, and supporting institutions that represent Kuwait locally and internationally.

The three-year commitment is intended to provide Al-Qadsiya with greater stability for planning and developing its initiatives and strengthening engagement with its supporters. It also highlights the role of Kuwait’s private sector in supporting sports clubs and the national sports movement.

The partnership carries the slogan “The journey continues… Wings carrying a homeland,” bringing together two prominent Kuwaiti brands. Jazeera Airways said it carries Kuwait’s name to destinations around the world, while Al-Qadsiya represents a long sporting history and national heritage built through generations of players and supporters.

Al-Qadsiya board member Mohammed Reda Maarafi said the agreement strengthens the concept of sustainability in sports. He credited the club’s marketing team for its work in developing partnerships with different sectors, particularly the private sector.

Maarafi said the three-year extension reflects the confidence of Jazeera Airways, describing the company as an important aviation institution in Kuwait and the region. He noted that the partnership followed a one-year trial period.

He said the longer agreement gives the club greater scope to work toward its ambitions and promised that Al-Qadsiya would seek to improve its performance not only on the sporting level but also in terms of institutional work.

Jazeera Airways CEO Barathan Pasupathi said renewing the partnership for another three years marks a significant milestone and a new chapter between a Kuwaiti airline and one of Kuwait’s oldest and most celebrated football clubs.

Pasupathi said Al-Qadsiya’s values of determination, resilience, teamwork and the pursuit of excellence align with those of Jazeera Airways. He added that both organizations share ambition, a strong connection with the community and a commitment to representing Kuwait.

Jazeera Airways Chief Government Affairs Officer Nasser Al-Obaid said the partnership had proven successful during its first year and that the new three-year commitment takes the relationship to a new level. He described it as a partnership between two Kuwaiti institutions with shared values, competitive spirit and an authentic Kuwaiti identity.

Al-Obaid also highlighted Jazeera Airways’ support for youth and sports. He said the company’s recent cooperation with Kuwaiti universities to attract distinguished graduates to its future leaders program is part of that commitment. He added that aligning the goals of both sides was key to extending the partnership.

Al-Obaid also referred to the challenges faced by the aviation sector amid geopolitical circumstances, which resulted in airport closures for 57 days. He said Jazeera Airways continued operating and connecting Kuwait with the outside world through its Baraka project and airports in Saudi Arabia, transporting more than 200,000 passengers.

He described this resilience as a “warrior spirit” shared by Jazeera Airways and Al-Qadsiya. The partnership will extend beyond financial sponsorship. Al-Obaid said Jazeera Airways will provide logistical, media and financial support, while arrangements are expected to provide Al-Qadsiya supporters with special privileges through Jazeera Airways.

Al-Qadsiya Supporters Association President Haitham Al-Sunni attended the signing and expressed appreciation for the renewed support, saying it would contribute to the club’s efforts to achieve new accomplishments in the coming season.

Al-Qadsiya player Hamza Khaba said the team is ready for league competition after a strong overseas training camp and a series of friendly matches. He said his focus is on helping the team win its first three league matches rather than pursuing the league’s top-scorer title.

Meanwhile, Al-Qadsiya photographer Mohammed Al-Sanousi spoke about his development as a photographer through his passion for the club and his work with its media center.
