Passengers demand answers after Kuwait Airways bookings reportedly downgraded

A number of travelers have expressed dissatisfaction after discovering that confirmed bookings they had made in first or business class on some Kuwait Airways flights had been changed to economy class without their prior knowledge, Arabic daily Al Jarida reported.
The passengers questioned how confirmed bookings for premium classes were handled after they had paid for the higher level of service, only to discover later, either while checking their flight details or at a subsequent stage, that their booking class had been changed.
They reportedly called on Kuwait Airways to clarify the reasons behind the changes and whether they were linked to flight rescheduling, a change in aircraft type or other operational circumstances. The passengers also sought clarification on the compensation procedures applicable when a passenger is moved to a lower class than the one originally booked and paid for.
They stressed that passengers should be notified clearly and in advance of any change to their booking class, while ensuring that their financial and service rights are protected. The passengers also said travelers should not bear responsibility for operational changes made by the airline and called for greater clarity on the procedures Kuwait Airways follows to protect passengers who have paid for higher-class tickets, Al-Jarida daily explained.
The issue has raised questions over how the airline handles involuntary downgrades and what compensation mechanisms are available when passengers are moved from a higher travel class to economy.
