DGDC foils attempt to smuggle 2 kilos of drugs into the country, Asian arrested

Personnel from the Directorate General for Drugs Control (DGDC) have taken into custody an unidentified Asian man for his involvement to smuggle approximately two kilograms of methamphetamine into the country.
According to investigators the suspect had arranged to bring the shipment from an Asian country with the intention of trafficking in drugs in Kuwait. The shipment arrived by air freight, with the methamphetamine cleverly concealed inside several books in an apparent attempt to disguise the contents and evade inspection.
DGDC officers then traced down the whereabouts of the suspect, arrested him and along with the contraband referred him to the authorities.
Coordination was also carried out with the relevant authorities in the country of origin to take the necessary measures concerning the case.
