Health Ministry honors Dr Abeer Al-Kandari for heroic beach rescue
The Ministry of Health has honored Dr. Abeer Al-Kandari, a specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, with a certificate of appreciation, in recognition of her swift and life-saving intervention that rescued a child involved in a drowning accident at one of Kuwait’s marine areas.
Her prompt action successfully restored the child’s vital signs before ambulance teams transported the youngster to hospital for further treatment.
During a ceremony, Ministry Undersecretary Sheikh Dr. Salman Khalifa Al-Sabah said Dr. Abeer immediately responded to the emergency and administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in accordance with approved medical protocols.
He noted that such qualities represent the highest professional and humanitarian values expected of healthcare practitioners and demonstrate the importance of preparedness and experience in handling critical situations.
