Butcher shops, café and biscuit factory shut down over health, safety violations
The Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN), as part of its ongoing campaign to safeguard public health and strengthen food safety standards, has ordered the closure of four food establishments in the Capital Governorate, including two butcher shops, a café and a biscuit factory, after inspectors uncovered multiple violations of food safety regulations.
According to the Authority, inspectors documented a range of serious violations that posed potential risks to consumer health including failure to maintain mandatory hygiene standards during food preparation and handling, operating businesses for purposes other than those specified in their licenses, continuing operations after health licences had expired, and selling food products without meeting approved technical and sanitary requirements.
The Authority reaffirmed that inspection campaigns will continue across all governorates as part of its ongoing efforts to identify non-compliant businesses and enforce food safety legislation.
PAFN stressed that establishments found violating health regulations will face strict legal action, underscoring the government’s commitment to ensuring that food served and sold in Kuwait meets approved safety and quality standards.
The latest closures form part of a broader nationwide strategy to strengthen regulatory oversight, promote higher standards of food hygiene, and protect consumers from unsafe food practices.
