Encroachments removal campaign kicks of today across Kuwait
Municipality urges compliance, moves from warnings to enforcement
The grace period has ended, and Kuwait Municipality has officially moved into the enforcement phase of its nationwide campaign to remove encroachments on state property in private and model residential areas.
Beginning today, municipal teams will be deployed across the country to remove unauthorized structures and violations under the ‘Kuwait is more beautiful without encroachments’ campaign, following the expiry of the two-week voluntary compliance period granted to property owners.
The Municipality has reiterated that no further extensions will be granted, urging residents who have yet to rectify violations to cooperate with inspection teams as enforcement gets underway.
Engineer Mohammed Al-Jalawi, a member of the Central Operations Team at the Office of the Director General of Kuwait Municipality, stressed that the campaign is should not be seen as a punitive measure, but rather as an initiative to uphold the law, safeguard public property and preserve the country’s urban landscape.
The Municipality said the campaign has already received encouraging public support, with many residents choosing to remove unauthorized fences, structures and other encroachments before enforcement began.
Officials have once again reminded residents that compliance remains the quickest and simplest way to avoid legal action, while helping preserve public spaces for the benefit of the wider community.
