Kuwait Fire Force issues summer safety tips to prevent home and vehicle fires

The Kuwait Fire Force has urged citizens and residents to follow essential fire safety precautions at home and in their vehicles, warning that high summer temperatures significantly increase the risk of fires.
In a public awareness campaign titled “Your Safety Begins with Fire Prevention,” the Fire Force stressed that prevention remains the first line of defense in protecting lives and property.
For homes, residents are advised to avoid overloading electrical outlets, regularly inspect electrical wiring and appliances, and never leave cooking stoves or gas burners unattended.
The authority also recommended installing smoke detectors, keeping fire extinguishers in working condition, storing flammable materials away from heat sources, and carrying out routine maintenance of air-conditioning units.
Motorists are encouraged to inspect vehicle batteries and electrical wiring regularly, ensure there are no fuel or oil leaks, and avoid leaving portable power banks, lighters or perfume bottles inside parked vehicles, where extreme heat can pose a fire hazard.
Drivers should also monitor engine temperatures, check tyre conditions, particularly before long journeys, and keep a fire extinguisher inside the vehicle.
