Foreign Ministry praises Kuwaiti women’s growing role in diplomacy
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs hailed the outstanding contributions of Kuwaiti women in the field of diplomacy, celebrating their growing presence and influential role both at the Ministry’s headquarters and across Kuwait’s diplomatic missions worldwide.
The Ministry praised the exceptional achievements of Kuwaiti female diplomats, whose professionalism, dedication and excellence continue to elevate the nation’s image and strengthen its voice on regional and international stages.
In a statement issued on Wednesday to mark the International Day of Women in Diplomatic Work, observed annually on June 24, the Ministry commended the valuable contributions of Kuwaiti women in advancing the country’s diplomatic presence and serving Kuwait with professionalism and dedication in various international forums.
The Ministry revealed that women currently represent 21 percent of Kuwait’s diplomatic corps, noting that the total number of female diplomats working at the Ministry’s General Office and in Kuwaiti diplomatic missions abroad has reached 145.
It further stated that 65 Kuwaiti women, including diplomats and administrative staff, are serving in diplomatic missions overseas, spread across 47 Kuwaiti missions around the world.
The statement also highlighted the growing leadership role of women within the Ministry, noting that three Kuwaiti women currently hold the position of Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs.
The Ministry affirmed that the achievements of Kuwaiti women in diplomacy reflect their competence, professionalism and ability to represent the State of Kuwait in the best possible manner, further strengthening the country’s distinguished presence on the international stage.
